"Where Community and Care Come Together" a
$3 million campaign, is the Foundation's initial campaign. The fundraising goal of $3 million helps provide financial support required to complete the $8 million project for construction of our modern Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic equipped with updated technology.
"Where Community and Care Come Together" was launched in June 2012. Phase I of this campaign was completed December 31, 2014, when a total of $1.5 million in Foundation funds was awarded to Kiowa District Healthcare for the construction costs. Our new hospital allows us to keep pace with current and future healthcare needs and demands of the citizens we serve in rural Kansas and Oklahoma.
The new hospital facility includes a larger emergency department, radiology expansion, and a surgery suite. Enhanced treatment areas, new technology, and private patient rooms with private bathrooms are highlights of the new 25,000 square foot facility. This well designed hospital allows patients a truly private and more enjoyable experience as they receive care from highly qualified professional people they know.
As Phase II progresses, funds raised will be used to help purchase new equipment for the hospital and clinic, expand the Physical Therapy Department, support Kiowa District Healthcare projects identified as health needs in the community, and supplement in-kind donations for exterior landscaping.
